Here are the top 3 reasons I believe you need wedding signage at your wedding and reception.

  1. It adds personality to your wedding.

Are you a goofy couple that wants to add signs with a bunch of puns or witty sayings? Or do you want classic signs that show elegance and grace to your wedding? Signs are a great way to show your guests the type of atmosphere you are trying to achieve at your wedding. Not saying you can’t be elegant and funny all at the same time, because you can! But this is a great way to show your personality through different little sayings and signs.

2. It gives your guests guidance.

I would have to say this is the most important one because signs really help your guests out in where to go, what to do, where to place things.

You want to think about the purpose behind your signs. You will want a cards and gifts sign to put on the table that is intended for that, otherwise your guests are confused where to put it and have to go asking around where to place these items. You don’t want a card full of money placed on a random table and then get lost in the venue. These signs bring clarity to your guest and help inform them of your intentions of placement of items.

Also don’t pass up the seating chart or escort cards. This is important and I know a lot of people stress about assigning seats and don’t enjoy that task but it really does help the guest. There are many reasons why you should have a seating arrangement, such as, you don’t want your fourth cousin removed sitting where your grandma should be sitting so that she can see you. Or if you have a family of six come and they came into the reception last and the only seats they can get are two separate tables with three seats each. So I highly recommend to do the seating chart or escort cards, it is SO worth it!

3. They make great keepsakes and home decor from your wedding!

This is the most special reason to have signs. Have the signs worded in a way that you can keep them and use them as home decor. A welcome sign is perfect for this because you can leave the “Welcome” off and just put your last name with the date you are getting married or you can leave the “Welcome” on the sign and use it as a welcome sign at your home. Making keepsakes out of your signs is such a sweet way to remember your wedding!
