Here’s the 5 major rules you need to follow when creating formal invitations:

  1. Spell out the full names of the bride and groom

  2. Write out everything! The date and time should be written out without any numbers and include the venue and the address (zip code is not needed).

  3. Name of the host should be on the card, so if the parent’s are helping pay, their names should be on there.

  4. There should be attire instructions on the card, for example, black tie, semi-formal, casual, etc.

  5. Include a family crest or monogram
